Annette Bryn Parri is a Welsh pianist, best known as an accompanist to opera stars such as Bryn Terfel, Rebecca Evans and Jason Howard. Parri appears regularly on the National Eisteddfod stage, and also at the International Eisteddfod at Llangollen.





Carys bachOriginally from Bow Street, near Aberystwyth, Carys Roberts studied Music at Manchester University. Following her degree she undertook further study in ‘Welsh traditional Music’ at Bangor University, for which she was awarded an M.A.. Subsequently she has played the harp professionally, worked for the Welsh Arts Council, has worked as a tv producer on a Welsh arts magazine programme, and now teaches. Throughout this time Carys has recorded and toured as a member of the Welsh folk group – ‘Ogam’.



cm caernarfonCaernarfon Male Voice Choir are one of Wales' most successful choirs. Over the years, they have performed in the best concert halls in Britain, including the Royal Albert Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall and St David’s Hall Cardiff. having won first prize in the National Eisteddfod of Wales nine times, they have also travelled and performed widely in the UK, Ireland, mainland Europe and North America.




Côr Meibion y Traeth – Traeth Male Choir – was founded in 1969 in order to compete at the Anglesey Eisteddfod which was held that year in Bro Goronwy, near Benllech, where many of the members lived. Initially rehearsals were held at the Pentraeth Primary School, translated means “beach head”, the Choir therefore, unlike most Welsh choirs, takes its name not from a town or village, but from the word “traeth” meaning “beach”.

Since their formation in 1991,Côr Seiriol have achieved astonishing success both competitively and creatively. At the national 'Cerdd Dant' festival, the choir have been awarded first prize in the blue riband event on ten separate occassions. Their uniquely rich sound under the direction of Gwennant Pyrs, has redefined the cerdd dant repetoire and drawn many leading composers to write for them.

Founded in 1971 Cowbridge Male Voice Choir is based the historic market town of Cowbridge in the rural setting of the Vale of Glamorgan the southernmost area of Wales, just to the west of Cardiff, the Welsh capital. The choir has travelled widely in Europe and North America over the years with its most recent tours being to Malta (2005), Southern Cyprus (2007), Northern Cyprus (2013) and Normandy (2015)


Canna Ladies Choir are a group of friends who live in the Cardiff area, but who originally come from all corners of Wales. Their energy and enthusiasm is evident in their signing, and the musical direction of Delyth Medi both encourages and inspires them. The choir produce an unique and fresh sound, signing an incredibly wide range of repetoire, from light to classical, from folk songs to operatic choruses.




Cor-LlewyrchFormed in 2013, Côr Llewyrch made their first public appearance on the S4C programme 'Dechrau Canu, Dechrau Canmol'. Under the direction of their Musical Director - Ilid Anne Jones, they are proud to have been involved with many fund raising activities.

Dewi 'Pws' Morris is a musician , poet, actor and comedian. Known for being the lead singer of Y Tebot Piws (The Purple Teapot) and later for his comedy series on S4C. He was the Children's Poet Laureate from 2010 to 2011.

Elis Wynne low res2 bachElis Wynne was born in Glanamman near Ammanford in Carmarthenshire and still lives in the area with his wife Sue.

He started singing at Junior School and when the National Eisteddfod visited Ammanford in the 60's, he won first prize as a boy soprano. At the age of 13 he started playing guitar and soon formed a local covers band called 'Midnight City'. He went on to play with many semi-professional groups including 'Bison', 'Stardust' and 'Discovery'. Whilst playing residencies, sometimes these groups would support well known acts such as 'The Searchers', Lulu, Max Boyce, Roy Castle and Tony Christie.

Wynne decided to go solo during the 90's, playing pubs and clubs before taking up residencies at various holidau resorts.

In the last few years Wynne has concentrated on writing and recording original material.

Elwyn Wilson Jones is known throughout Wales as a member of ‘Hogia’r Wyddfa’.

Emyr is always associated with Ysgol Glanaethwy – as an actor and as a singer. The companies with which he has had theatrical experiences include- Cwmni Fran Wen; Theatr Tandem and Hanner a Hanner. On S4C, he has appeared on popular series such as `Pengelli`, `Amdani` and `Tipyn o Stad`. He is best known for his role as `Meical` in `Rownd a Rownd`, a role that he played for over 10 years. In the singing world, Emyr won the ‘song from a musical’ competition in the Eryri National Eisteddfod (2005). He took part in musicals that launched the Urdd National Eisteddfod weeks between 2005 and 2009. His voice can often be heard on children`s cartoon programmes on S4C. He has appeared as `compere`on `Noson Lawen`(S4C), and occasionally, Emyr and Dilwyn Morgan stand in for John and Alun on the popular radio programme `John ac Alun`(Radio Cymru). In 2014, he appeared in a unique open air production of `Yr Helfa`(The Gathering) with National Theatre Wales.

Dr Jazz lead by vocalist and trumpet star Gwyn Evans are North Wales' premier jazz, swing and function band. The band have performed to great acclaim in many varying situations - from S4C's TV shows, to major jazz festivals, to society weddings, to civic functions, to the Ffestiniog Railway's Jazz Train concerts.

Born in 1971 in Swansea, and a fluent Welsh speaker, Huw Williams was Organ Scholar at Christ's College, Cambridge then studied at the Royal Academy of Music and in Holland. He became Assistant Organist at Hereford Cathedral and was closely involved with the famous Three Choirs Festival. Having been appointed to his position at St. Paul's in 1998 he now lives in London with his young family, but his recital performances have taken him to Canada, the USA, and all over Europe. Huw has also performed with many ensembles: the London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, National Orchestra of Wales, City of London Sinfonia, London Mozart Players, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and The Sixteen.

John ac Alun are a country/acoustic duo, featuring John Jones and Alun Roberts of Tudweiliog on the Lleyn Peninsula. They are amongst the most successful Welsh recording artists, since making their first album in 1991. For the last 20 years they have had their own very popular radio show, every Sunday night, on Radio Cymru.





KATIE WYN thumb In the passing of Katie Wyn at the age of 84 the eisteddfod scene lost one of its most faithful supporters. She possessed a fine soprano voice, gaining much success as a soloist over many years, first as a child, and then competing throughout her life in eisteddfodau right across north and mid Wales. .

 

 

 


ogamllun1Founded in 1995 to compete in the Cnapan festivals 'Cythrel Canu' competition in which the group was successful. Ogam subsequently represented Wales at the Pan Celtic festival in Trallee, Ireland where it was also successful. Subsequent highlights have included a tour of Brittany in 1997 and the Montreal International Celtic Festival 2001.


Rebownder headIestyn Jones, A.K.A – 'Rebownder,' is best known as the long serving columnist with Welsh language newspaper, Y Cymro. Jones first started singing at Eisteddfods, as a youngster. The Welsh festivals of literature, music and performance have been a platform for many Welsh artists over the years, so it's no surprise that the North-Walian raised son of a Police Sergeant took his first creative steps there. And that's exactly what Iestyn is – a creative. His inventiveness is based on the life he's lived – and what a colorful one it's been so far.



sarah wynn bachSarah Wynn is a cheeky singer-songwriter with a passion for indie and dance music. Her love of a variety of styles is reflected in her own tracks which range from addictive dance to her more recent indie tunes. Sarah writes and performs songs in both Welsh and English and enjoys performing live. Sarah is a Radio Presenter on 102.5FM MonFM www.monfm.co.uk and on Radio Ysbyty Gwynedd. She is also the lead singer of industrial rock band Nexxus Empire.

Siân James is a Welsh traditional folk singer and harpist.
A native of the Mid Wales village of Llanerfyl in Powys, Siân James participated, from an early age, in local eisteddfodau, playing the piano, the violin and later the harp. While still a student at Llanfair Caereinion High School, she began composing her own songs and arranging traditional Welsh music. She went on to read music at the University of Wales, Bangor. She is also well known for her acting work on Welsh language television.
Siân James conducts and accompanies a Welsh men's choir called Parti Cut Lloi.

Siwan Ll-sSiwan Llynor is probably best known for her role as the colourful Cheryl Gurka in the popular S4C drama series ‘Tipyn o Stad’.  However, Siwan has recently filmed her final scenes as Cheryl in order to concentrate on her music and other acting projects. This new stage in her career is marked by the release of her debut CD ‘Plu’r Gweunydd’ on the Aran label.




ynyr llwydYnyr is a young musician from the outskirts of Denbigh, North Wales. Ynyr has been a member of a number of bands before embarking on his career as a solo artist.
